| Aim: | The aim of this module is to demonstrate knowledge of core standards of fundamental nursing & midwifery care. |
| Background: | Nurses & Midwives make a critical contribution to patient safety and quality improvement. Relationships between incidents relating to patient safety, morbidity and mortality have been highlighted with the need to demonstrate ‘lessons learnt’ from serious untoward incidents and complaints NPSA (2007a). This module provides the opportunity through e learning, to acquire knowledge and skills to confirm core standards of fundamental nursing care to celebrate good practice among HEFT nurses & midwives.

| Booking: | N/A/ Module to be completed by all nurses online. This module represents a Trust wide education initiative which for the first time will offer a benchmarking approach to the assessment of the knowledge base of all Nurses within HEFT in relation to the delivery of fundamental core safety standards. This will be facilitated by using a Virtual Learning Platform which will provide us with grade centre data to be used for service improvement.
