The Quality Unit manages the faculty education portfolio as well as managing the faculty's quality assurance framework. The Quality Unit also provides support to faculty staff in the pursuit of quality assurance and enhancement.
The Unit leads professional regulatory body visits for trainees studying medicine, nursing, midwifery and allied healthcare professionals. The Unit also provides assistance with accrediting current or proposed education programmes.
As part of the Quality Assurance process the Unit provides evidence for CQC, NHSLA and Monitor with regards to education. The Quality Unit is responsible for coordinating the database of training records linked to the Electronic Staff Record.
Overall the Quality Units role is to ensure education meets the needs of patients and their families as well as offering ‘Value for Money’ and ‘Return on Investment’.
